VBS 2012 Music – A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

One of the favorite parts of VBS is music! We consistently receive comments from workers, parents, and children telling us how much they enjoy the songs. I am constantly amazed how well people can recall the words and tunes of VBS songs from 10 to 15 years ago. In reality they are not just remembering tunes, they are remembering and quoting Scripture.

Recently I had the great privilege of spending two weeks with 21 college-aged adults at CentriKid Camp at Louisiana College. One evening someone started singing a VBS song and before long a large number of the team joined in the trip down memory lane. With ease they were recalling VBS songs they had learned as children. Not only did they remember the words and tunes but the motions as well!

With VBS 2012 – Amazing Wonders Aviation – just around the corner I thought you might enjoy listening to excerpts from the five daily songs. Enjoy!

  1. GREAT! Judging from the excepts, “Worthy” will be my favorite! “If God” will run a close second, with the others tieing for third! Praise God for the way he uses Jeff each year.

  2. Super excited! Those are amazing! If God’s my fave from what I’ve heard so far!

  3. Is there any way of getting previous VBS music CDs and DVDs? We always pass ours on to other churches or mission trips. I would like to revisit some of the songs from years past with our kids. Thanks.

  4. Susan, CDs and DVDs are not available unless you find someone on the VBS Community that has a copy they will part with. However, all songs for the previous 15 years are on iTunes. Just search under Jeff Slaughter or VBS. Big Apple music will be uploaded soon.

  5. Please can we move evangelical day back to Thursday? It give more time to minister to the kids. Just something to think about for future.

    Thanks!

  6. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G…is it weird that I can picture a “Big Band” style set up with kids holding inflatable brass horns swaying to the rhythm?
